Alligator Lake Recreation Area is located south east of Lake City in North Central Florida. This park boasts 12 miles of trails through wetlands and shallow lakes. 150 bird species have been recorded from herons, migrant song birds and water fowl.
The GFBWT claims that this location "should be on every birder’s to-do list." We at Telephoto Florida agree.
Bring the kids, pack a picnic lunch, and spend a couple hours wandering around the lake.
