Fort Desoto Park

It is not surprising that Fort Desoto Park wins its share of accolades. The park was voted America's number one beach in 2005 and again in 2009 by Trip Advisor.  If TPF had a top ten list, Fort Desoto Park would likely be on it.

This park is a bird migration hot spot thanks in part to the large mulberry bush found just off the main beach.

Don't let the $5 per car charge to enter the park discourage you. It is money well spent. Swim, fish, kayak, bike, row, hike, and end the day watching sunset.

As evidenced by the adjoining photos, anything can drop out of the skies during spring migration fallouts.  The attraction is a large mulberry bush, ripe and juicy and full of life breathing energy after a long Gulf crossing.
