Fernandina Beach is a quaint, Victorian, seaport town, complete with period architecture, artistic shops, and fine dining some forty five minutes north of Jacksonville.
Take a river cruise or view the city via horse drawn carriage. Stop in at Florida's oldest bar, The Palace Saloon, established in 1902. Back then a buck and half got you a bottle whiskey and five cents bought you beer.
There is plenty to do in the area, which includes Amelia Island and Yulee. For starters, enjoy the thirteen miles of excellent "First Coast" amenities including swimming, sunbathing, fishing boating and birding.
