Tampa Bay Lightning – Be the Thunder!
When you think of hockey, you don't often think of the Tampa Bay area. You think of the Buccaneers or the Rays. Well the 2004 Stanley Cup Champs, The Tampa Bay Lightning, and the folks at the Amalie Arena would like to change that thought.
Going to a hockey game in the south is a unique experience. Flip flops and shorts replace parkas snow show shoes. Tourists and snow birds often outnumber the home team fans - sometimes bringing with them their own brand of coffee. Rivalries can be intense leading to entertaining evening of quality hockey.
The Amalie Arena does it up right, complete with snow machines and rock bands outside. From the Kiss Cam on the Jumbotron to the old time organ, this high energy, MAKE SOME NOISE entertainment is fun for all ages, hard core fans or newbies alike. It helps that the home team is really, really good.
Tickets are still reasonably priced (compared to other hockey towns) and can range on any given day from $25 - $200 and up. Visit the Lightning's Web site to learn more about the team, see the schedule and get tickets.
